Although a teaser for the highly anticipated Apple TV show was released last week, fans now have a better idea of what to expect from the new series. The star-studded first Apple TV original series will give viewers an inside look into the world of television morning shows like Today and Good Morning America.

The series is kicking off with a bang and is basing some of the stories off of real-life events. Aniston plays a morning show anchor whose world is rocked when her co-host and husband is fired for allegations, not revealed in the trailer.

Steve Carell plays the disgraced host and Aniston’s husband. Witherspoon is an ambitious up, and coming news anchor brought in to replace Carell. Billy Crudup shows up as a network executive trying to manage the scandal and Aniston’s fear of losing her job.

“I just need to be able to control the narrative so that I am not written out of it,” Aniston shares with Crudup in the trailer.

Apple TV’s first forte into original television is based on Brian Stelter’s book Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV. During an Apple event launching their new division and sharing future projects last March, giving fans more insight into the original series.

At the launch, Aniston and Witherspoon explained the goal of The Morning Show is to showcase the “the high-stakes world of morning news and the lives of the people who help America wake up in the morning.” The two friends also shared the series will focus on the relationships between men and women in the workplace.

The Morning Show trailer is giving fans all the feels seeing Jennifer Aniston back on the small screen. She is certainly not playing Rachel Green in her new TV role.

The Morning Show will launch on Apple TV this fall, which means those wanting to check out the new Aniston and Witherspoon series will have to cough up some cash. Like with any other streaming service, viewers must have a subscription.
